Biography

Oli TurnerOllie started playing the drums at the age of 12. After doing the rounds of local concerts, he helped establish his first real band 'Blink', who performed material somewhere between Hendrix and Pearl Jam.

Since then, he has played both live and in the studio with numerous groups.

Currently, Ollie can be seen performing with guitarist/singer Walter Eddowes as well as several other bands.

Influences come from a wide variety of sources, including Elvin Jones, Derek Roddy (Hate Eternal), Dave Grohl, Carter Beuford and Antonio Sanchez.

As well as live performance, Ollie has several sideline projects including 'rhythm layering' - a method of ostinato based independence, in which peices are composed to stimulate music lovers from all fields, not just percussive. Interest in this form of music stemmed from players such as Thomas Lang, Marco Minneman and Grant Collins.

Ollie's ambitions include extending his extensive teaching and performing career to a much wider audience, eventually branching into recording, drum/rhythm clinics and active sharing of the knowledge gained from his years of dedication.
